West Bengal government implemented Revision of Pay and Allowances (ROPA) 2019 under the 6th Pay Commission Pay Scale. Salary of government employees in this state is given as per West Bengal Pay Matrix (ROPA-2019) that has 24 levels of Pay Scale for each type of post. All details regarding pay scale levels, grade pay, and pay bands for employees working in various state government departments, boards, and commissions is listed in it.
West Bengal Pay Matrix ROPA-2019 All Levels
West Bengal, the fourth most populous state in India, has lakhs of employees from Group A to Group D posts working in its various recruitment authorities, such as West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) and West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) etc.. The vacancies in these, gets filled as per requirement through job advertisements.
There are 24 levels (from 1-24) in schedule 1 of WB Pay Matrix (ROPA-2019) 6th Pay commission and 10 levels in schedule 2 (6A, 9A, 10A, 10B, 10C, 12A, 12B, 15A, 16A, 19A). Each level specifies starting and last basic pay, and grade pay applicable to govt employees. WB govt has not declared 7th Pay commission for state employees till yet.
